About Jim

Jim Reo is the founder of Reo Leadership Advisory, providing executive assessment, coaching and search solutions to a wide range of publicly-held, private and non-profit organizations.

Jim has over thirty years of experience in the professional and financial services sectors, holding roles in audit, executive coaching and search, and HR leadership at premier companies. Prior to starting Reo Leadership Advisory, Jim spent 24 years at Capital One Financial Corporation where he built and led the executive recruitment function, and held a variety of leadership roles including Vice President of Talent Acquisition. Jim's expertise in recruiting senior and C-Suite executives, and his role in building the Board of Directors of Capital One, made a powerful impact on fueling the growth, transformation and success of this Fortune 100 company. Over the last decade, Jim followed his passion and embarked on a journey of becoming an executive coach to both emerging leaders and experienced executives.

Jim began his career as a CPA. His early experience included roles in audit at Ernst & Young, and executive search at Heidrick & Struggles. A native of New York, he completed his undergraduate degree in Accounting at The George Washington University, and his training as an executive coach at Georgetown University's School of Continuing Studies. In addition to leadership recruiting and development, Jim is passionate about Italian culture, the outdoors, and inclusion -- particularly as an advocate for people with disabilities. He and his family reside in Arlington, Virginia and Chester, Vermont.
